THE FLOWER CROWN

A stalwart of weddings style throughout the 80’s, the flower crown has been replaced in recent decades by veils and most recently beautifully embellished headbands. However Chanel has heralded their comeback in a very Couture fashion as their headpiece of choice for their bride closing their Couture Spring 22 show. Of course it is refined and chic - it is Chanel after all - but it is also wearable and easily adapted to suit most bride’s wants and desires for a modern bridal accessory. The trailing ribbons are an elegant touch.

Brides looking to forgo veils and find headbands a bit too cutesy should consider the flower crown - real or artificial, a delicate strand or a dynamic statement, the iteration is entirely personal. Looking good with a suit or a mini dress or a full blown wedding gown I suspect to see versions of this on the heads of fashionable brides - and bridesmaids and guests - throughout 2022. An eighties revival makes it’s way into bridal.
